In depth

The pitch in full

PrompTugal is an Algarvian startup, and it is raising. We are looking for investors and business partners, and talking to them at Web Summit Lisbon (9 to 12 November 2026). This section publishes the strategy, the product, the plan and the history in full. Only the valuation and the terms are kept for a conversation; the round is a seed of under €1M.

The pitch, in one page

We are building the next generation of news publishing, and it is already working. PrompTugal.news went from an empty repository to a live publication in days: articles with every fact sourced and every article signed, profiles of the companies at the summit, the summit's days, a graph of who connects to whom, search, an assistant that answers from the site, a reading account with micropayments, and an app for iPhone and iPad in internal beta. It is released many times a day, in the open.

What we sell is the agentic workflow. Many people talk about building agentic workflows; this one runs a newsroom every hour. Agents research, write, check, design, release and review, each with its own name, key and limits, and a named human decides. It is the operationalisation of news: people and agents working together, with every step on the record. The latest count, given by Dinis Cruz on 7 November 2026: about 111 agents at work across his projects, and it is scaling.

The future is already here. Micropayments instead of advertising. No tracking of readers. Serverless, so the stack costs very little to run. Levels of access for readers, editors and agents. Every page readable by people and by AI agents alike. See what is working today.

Why invest. Look at what was done in this time, at the execution and at the agentic flows. PrompTugal is an open-source company: an investor joins the journey with everything already visible.

Who are you?

An Algarvian startup

PrompTugal is a company from the Algarve, and means to be part of the Algarve's ecosystem: My Feeds, the company behind it, is incorporated in Portugal and is joining Algarve Evolution, the Faro-based association building the region's innovation economy beyond tourism. A startup that sets out to change how news is published, from the Algarve, and is already doing it.

We are now asking the ecosystem the practical questions: which grants and programmes a Portuguese startup like this can apply for, what the path to investment looks like here, and what support exists. If you know, talk to us.

A founder's strategy, executed

PrompTugal did not start this week. Dinis Cruz runs several open-source startups under one strategy (open-source.sgit.ai), and PrompTugal is that strategy executed: it is only possible because of years of work on sgit (the vaults, keys and signatures underneath) and on the agent-run newsroom at newsroom.sgit.ai. It came together in days because everything it stands on was already built (how we got here). Having many startups is the point: each one reuses the others.

Partners wanted

Dinis Cruz, founder and CTO, is looking for investors and business partners to run with PrompTugal, above all a CEO from the news industry. People from the teams he works with may become part of it; nothing about that is official yet, so no one else is named here. Join us.

Two phases, said plainly

Phase one is the explorers' phase: a small team and a seed round, to prove the company can be profitable and ready for Series A, ending in an exit for the first round of founders and investors (no date is set). Phase two (more professional, more execution, more events, growth) is a different type of company, and Dinis Cruz says so: he likes to start companies and prepares his own exit from the beginning ("making myself redundant is what good leadership should do"). If PrompTugal really takes off, it becomes his next three years; he does not close that door, but he is pragmatic about what is most likely.

The investor's three questions: can this be a profitable business? Can this company be bought in the future? Is this the team to execute it? If the answer is yes, yes, yes, invest. (The investment, deck 5.)
