Investors: what we think
Where technology and the news industry are going, as we see them, and what we wish the industry would do, as a customer of the method as much as a competitor.
On this page
We want to be useful to the industry, not only to sell to it. This is what we think, and why PrompTugal is built the way it is.
Where technology is going
- Agentic workflows become how work is done. Not one assistant, but teams of agents with roles, names, keys, written limits, budgets and a record of every run, with a person who decides. Most organisations talk about this; PrompTugal runs one every hour, in public.
- Every page is read by people and by agents. A site that is not readable by AI agents (a markdown twin, an llms.txt, data as JSON) will be read badly or not at all.
- Open by default. Code, data and decisions in the open are faster to trust and faster to build on.
Where the news industry is going
- Trust is the product. Every fact with its source and the date it was read; every article signed by who wrote it; every correction on the record.
- The reader owns their data. No tracking, no selling attention; the reader's history and saved articles in their own vault.
- Pay for what you read, a little at a time, instead of advertising.
- News is operational: research, writing, checking, design and release as a pipeline of people and agents, released many times a day.
What we wish the industry would do
- Publish its sources and sign its articles.
- Make every page readable by agents as well as people.
- Stop tracking readers to sell them.
- Try agentic teams with written limits and a human who decides, and show the record.
Read the argument in full
Dinis Cruz has argued each point above at length on newsroom.sgit.ai. A reading list, newest first within each theme:
