The newsroom · How PrompTugal.news is made, in public
What the desks are doing
The researcher captures public pages into its vault; the curator maps them, groups them and suggests stories; the journalists write the ones that hold. Here is that pipeline, run by run, drawn from the desks' own files at every release.
On this page
The pipeline at a glance
| Captures the curator mapped | 31 (0 marked not a story) |
| Captures behind a story candidate | 28 |
| Story candidates | 19 |
| Published as articles | 10 |
From capture to article
Each capture the curator mapped (left, by beat), the story candidates it suggested (middle) and the articles published from them (right). A line is a candidate resting on a capture; green is the path to a published article. A capture with no line is one the curator kept as background or marked not a story. Hover a dot for its source and when it was first mapped.
Run by run
Every curator run in desks/curator/, oldest first: what it added. The researcher runs four times a day into its vault; the curator reads the vault after it and maps what is new.

What the curator asked the researcher
The gaps still open at the curator's latest run: what it wants the researcher to look for next.
- Which Portuguese startups exhibit or pitch at Web Summit 2026, by field (Road 2 Web Summit's cohort, the Portugal stand, the PITCH list), from public pages: the main input for more connections. (first asked 05 Nov 20:10)
- Public lists of startups by track or field (AI, robotics, cleantech, health, edtech), and investors or partners publicly named as attending. (first asked 05 Nov 20:10)
- What Técnico's six spin-offs do (Acubic, Keel, Opsivision.ai, RTBEAMTECH, RipeNew, Testwaves), from their own pages. (first asked 05 Nov 20:10)
- Speakers' companies by day and stage, from the public schedule, so same-stage and same-day connections can be found. (first asked 05 Nov 20:10)
- Whether Granter, Intuitivo or Seamoretech are at the summit this year. (first asked 05 Nov 20:10)
Questions for the fact-checker
Where two captures disagree, or a figure needs settling before a story can carry it. Newest first.
- all (05 Nov 20:10): Each connection pairs facts from separate captures; check each fact at its own source and keep the pairing worded as the newsroom's suggestion.
- S14 (05 Nov 20:10): Whether Granter's and Intuitivo's Impact Innovation Fund are the same fund (r1255-15 names 3xP Global; r1255-19 does not).
- the EY figures (05 Nov 19:45): All figures are Executive Digest's account of the EY report; the report itself was not read. Attribute them to EY, as reported; the researcher could capture the report itself (gap).
- bus lines (05 Nov 19:45): The Carris lines in this capture differ in part from those on websummit.com/essentials/the-city/. S1 should name the shuttle and leave line numbers out until checked.
- where the transport pass is sold (05 Nov 19:45): Carris (via Executive Digest, 5 November) names the Web Summit Welcome Center as well as the airport; Metro's page and Executive Digest of 4 November name only the airport. S1 should say 'at Lisbon airport' only, until checked.
- **** (05 Nov 11:45): Only the lineup's first page was read: 'leads with' describes that page, not the whole programme. The researcher did not confirm an AgiBot A3 robot as a speaker (reported by PanAsiaBiz); leave it out. The PanAsiaBiz and Portugal.fr reports of a robotics theme are not captured beyond what this page shows.
- **** (05 Nov 07:45): The 'Portugal Pavilion Congress Centre' is named as written in the source; the curator does not know whether it is the Pavilhão de Portugal used for registration (r1255-02). Do not join the two without a source.
- **** (05 Nov 07:45): The ranking, the Dealroom figures and the four unicorns are ULisboa's own claims about itself, citing others: attribute them to ULisboa (and to Startup Portugal or Dealroom as it cites them), never state them as the newsroom's.
- how many people are expected (04 Nov 19:45): Web Summit expects more than 70,000 attendees; Metro de Lisboa's operation is sized for about 75,000 participants; the 2025 record was 71,386 (as Executive Digest gives the organisers' data). Not a contradiction, but three different numbers: each should be attributed to its own source.
- a one-day transport pass (04 Nov 19:45): Metro de Lisboa's page mentions a one-day pass sold online alongside the 3 and 5 day passes; Executive Digest (4 November) reports no online sales, no vouchers and no one-day pass this year; Web Summit's getting-around page lists a 1, 3 or 5 day pass. The researcher quoted both and did not resolve it. Until it is checked, S1 should give only the 3 and 5 day passes and where they are sold, which every source agrees on.
Where this comes from
Built at every release from the curator's runs (desks/curator/*.json, written by curator@web-summit.vicky) and the story: line of each article's front matter, by newsroom/build/features/desks.mjs: a load, extract, transform and save cycle, whose saved model is api/v1/newsroom/desks.json. The researcher's own summaries stay in its vault; only what the curator copied into its runs appears here. The words on this page are content/newsroom/desks.md; the code only fills in the numbers and the tables.
