Web Summit in Lisbon, edition by edition

Attendance at Web Summit in Lisbon from 2016 to 2025, as the organiser reports it, with a mark for how far each figure was read.

Web Summit has been in Lisbon since 2016. This picture sets the editions side by side: one column each, as tall as the attendance the organiser reported, with the dates, the venue and the source one tap away. Some editions have no figure in what we have read, and the picture leaves those empty rather than guess.

How to read it

  • Solid columns were read at source. Paler ones come from Wikipedia's table, which is a tertiary source. Dashed means we only have a search summary and have not read the page.
  • n/a means no attendance figure was found for that year; 2020 was held online.
  • The figures are the organiser's own claims, as the press repeats them, and the sources do not always agree: one calls 2025 a record at 71,386 while 2024's reported figure is 71,528. The final numbers are still to be checked.
  • Tap an edition for its dates, venue, figure and source (new tab). Save as PNG downloads the picture as it is now.

For the ten Lisbon years told as a story, see the article. Other pictures: the world map, centres of gravity.
