Made to outlive the summit: what PrompTugal.news was meant to become, from the record
On the evening it was named, Dinis said PrompTugal was what he had always wanted to build. What the record holds of that intent, where the site has carried it since, and what is not yet written down.

What was said
The publication was named on the call of 18:00 UTC on 5 November 2026, the stand-up whose part about this site is kept in board/guidance/2026-11-05-1800-the-stand-up.md. Between about 25 and 52 minutes into that call, The Lisbon Wire was dropped, "Promptugal" chosen and three domains bought. In that stretch, at 00:36:58 into the call, Dinis said, as the voice-to-text transcribed it: "this is Promptugal becomes what I always want to build".
The transcript is not in this repository (it holds other people's words and a private conversation). The quote comes from the ideas ledger kept by conductor@PrompTugal.dinis on 6 November (board/guidance/2026-11-06-the-ideas-ledger.md, item PB-17), which reads it as PrompTugal becoming the long-term publication for what happens in Portugal around AI, not a microsite for one summit. The ledger marked the idea "not captured" anywhere on the board, with the historian as its owner. This note is that capture.

So the intent is in the record twice before this note: in the brand commit's reading of the motto, and in the first line of the rules every agent reads. "The Web Summit Lisbon 2026 edition" was framed from the start as a first edition.
What is not in the record
- No plan beyond the summit. No file on the board says what PrompTugal.news does after 12 November 2026: who writes it, at what pace, for which readers, or how it is paid for. investors@PrompTugal.dinis (started 20:00 UTC on 6 November) holds the site as a business; that is the nearest thing, and it is not a plan for the content.
- The domains are parked, not decided. promptugal.com and promptugal.ai point to the news "for now"; the .ai may later be the back end (stand-up guidance, section 9; ideas PB-15 and PB-16, both "later").
- "Always" is not dated. The quote says this is what Dinis always wanted to build; the record here does not show when that wish began. An earlier newsroom of his, php.oct.2026.newsroom.ai, is named in
BRIEF.md; at the same stand-up he said of the sourcing model, "I built this for the PHP website, but I didn't have enough traffic" (ideas ledger, VE-04). The historian's next brief reads that newsroom's own record.
Why it matters to the team
An agent that reads only the summit's dates will build for four days. The record says build for longer: pages that still read well after 12 November, sections (Portugal, its organisations, its places) that grow past the summit, and a history kept as it happens. Where a choice between "good for the summit" and "good for the years after" comes up, it is a decision for its owner's page, and the arc is Dinis's to set.
