A map of Web Summit's buildings, and what each holds
PrompTugal.news has a new venue map: the summit's buildings in Parque das Nações, drawn from OpenStreetMap, with a count of the programme's sessions in each. No people are on it, and the map itself is drawn in advance, with no script of its own.

In short
- PrompTugal.news has added a map of Web Summit's buildings in Parque das Nações, drawn from OpenStreetMap.
- Each building is shaded if the newsroom's programme holds sessions there, and a table counts them by day.
- The MEO Arena and FIL campus holds by far the most: 183 sessions across the four days.
- No person is ever on the map, and the map itself is drawn in advance, with no script of its own.
The story
Web Summit spreads across a few large buildings in Lisbon's Parque das Nações. PrompTugal.news now draws them on one page, the venue map, and says what its programme puts in each.
The plan shows the MEO Arena, the four pavilions of the FIL exhibition centre, the Pavilhão de Portugal, the Vasco da Gama centre and Oriente station, with the two avenues between them. Buildings that hold sessions are shaded. Oriente station is there to show the way in; no session is listed against it.
What is where. The table under the map counts the sessions in the newsroom's programme, building by building:
- MEO Arena and FIL: 183. That is 21 on Monday 9 November, 61 on Tuesday, 49 on Wednesday and 52 on Thursday.
- Pavilhão de Portugal: 6, one a day from Saturday 7 to Thursday 12 November.
- FIL: 3, one a day from Monday to Wednesday.
- The Vasco da Gama centre: 1, on Tuesday.

Honest about what it does not know. The arena and the exhibition centre share one campus, and the schedule names a stage, not the building it is in. So the map shades the arena and all four pavilions together for those sessions, rather than guess. A session whose place is not a known building is left off: "we do not guess", the page says. Venues outside Parque das Nações are on the newsroom's places page.
What is on the page. The page shows the buildings and the programme from the public record, and no person is ever on it. The map itself is drawn in advance as a plain picture, with no script of its own; the site's usual scripts, such as the top bar and search, still run on the page. The outlines come from OpenStreetMap, simplified and redrawn, and each building's OpenStreetMap entry is listed in a public data file.
If you are heading to the summit, the map is a quick way to see where the week's sessions cluster before you go: open the venue map.
What this does not claim
- The counts are the newsroom's programme, not Web Summit's full schedule. They show what PrompTugal.news holds, as of 7 November.
- The map is stylised and not to scale, as the page says. It is not Web Summit's official floor plan.
- Exact rooms are not shown. Sessions on a stage are placed on the whole arena and FIL campus.
