## In short

- About 200 Brazilian companies come to Web Summit Lisbon to seek investment and business in Europe, Brazil's trade agency ApexBrasil says.
- They have a 324 square metre pavilion in the MEO Arena, with a programme from 10 to 12 November.
- Going the other way, Intuitivo, a Porto edtech startup, has raised €1.35 million to grow in Brazil.
- Intuitivo won Web Summit's PITCH competition in 2024.
- Linking them is the newsroom's suggestion. No source says they plan to meet.

## The story

Web Summit Lisbon is a meeting point between Portugal and Brazil this year, in both directions.

### Brazil to Lisbon

About 200 Brazilian companies will take part in Web Summit Lisbon, [ApexBrasil](../organisations/apexbrasil/index.html), Brazil's export and investment agency, announced on 4 November. Executive Digest reports that they come to seek investment and business in the European market.

ApexBrasil leads the mission with [Sebrae Startups](../organisations/sebrae-startups/index.html), from 8 to 13 November. It brings companies from every region of Brazil and representatives of ten Brazilian technology parks.

Brazil's base is a 324 square metre pavilion in the MEO Arena, with a programme from 10 to 12 November. It includes meetings with investors, business presentations and debates with international guests.

According to the organisers, Brazilian companies raised about 700 million US dollars at earlier editions, through contacts and talks begun at the event.

### Portugal to Brazil

[Intuitivo](../organisations/intuitivo/index.html) was founded in Porto in 2021. Its platform helps teachers create, give and grade tests, and uses AI to draft tests. It covers more than 500 schools in Portugal and counts 75,000 registered teachers, Portugal Startup News reports.

It has raised €1.35 million in seed funding to grow in Brazil. The company estimates a market there of 2.2 million teachers, about 12 times Portugal's. It already has a team in Brazil, and some Brazilian teachers already use the platform. Its chief executive, João Guimarães, called Brazil a natural next step, citing the shared language.

### The bridge

Lisbon gives Brazilian companies a way into Europe. Intuitivo shows a Portuguese startup taking the opposite route.

**Who could connect:** Portuguese startups eyeing Brazil, as Intuitivo is, could visit the Brazil pavilion in the MEO Arena from 10 to 12 November. This is a suggestion only.
